Olinda Chapel in court for cyberbullying, granted US$100 bail

UK-based socialite and businesswoman Olinda Chapel appeared in a Harare court on Wednesday, facing cyberbullying charges.

Chapel was not asked to plead when she appeared before Harare magistrate Ruth Moyo and was released on US$100 bail.

According to the State, on December 17, Chapel broadcast a Facebook Live video in which she allegedly harassed Dyonne Tafirenyika, calling her a prostitute and threatening to “deal with” her.

Tafirenyika is the former wife of rapper Desmond “Stunner” Chideme, who is now married to Chapel.

As part of her bail conditions, Chapel was ordered not to interfere with State witnesses, to surrender her passport, and to report once every fortnight at Borrowdale Police Station.

She is expected back in court on January 16, 2026.

Lawrence Gangarahwe appeared for the State.
